Traffic Accident

At 1430 HRS Station 2 responded to a traffic accident.. Units on scene found 1 vehicle that had hit 2
power poles, A passenger vehicle had travelled toward them and also clipped a fire hydrant as a
result of having cardiac complications.

Residential Fire Alarm

At 1400 HRS Station 2 & 64 responded to an active residential fire alarm. Units on scene found fire
in the wall involving the HVAC unit. No one was injured..

Traffic Accident

Station 2 responded to 2 vehicle MVA with injuries and fire around the 2500 Block of Old Shelby Rd.
Units on the scene found a well involved vehicle fire with minor injuries. Crews extinguished the
fire, assisted EMS and provided traffic control.

Vehicle Fire

Around 0530 HRS Long View Fire Department received a dispatch for a vehicle fire. Engine 23
arrived on location and confirmed a working fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained
to the engine compartment of the vehicle.

Traffic Accident - Cape Hickory Rd.

Around 2029 HRS Long View Fire Department received a dispatch for a Traffic Accident with
rollover. E-23 arrived on scene and found a single vehicle roll-over with no injuries.
Responding Units: Long View E-23, Burke County React, Burke County EMS & NCSHP.
Grass / Woods Fire - 2100 Block of 13th Ave. SW

Long View Fire Department responded to a Grass / Woods fire around the 2100 Block of 13th Ave.
SW. High winds caused a pine tree to fall across power lines causing the fire. This area of 13th
Ave. SW was closed while repairs were being made.
Responding Units: Long View C200, C1 & E23.
Structure Fire - 3500 Block of 1st Ave. NW

Station 2 and 64 responded to a reported fire in the wall of residential structure located in the 3500
Block of 1st Ave. NW. Units on the scene found smoke and flames showing from the rear of the
exterior. Attack crews performed a primary search and extinguished the fire. Command confirmed
all occupants were out. Crews performed overhaul and checked for extension. Investigation was
performed by LVFD investigations. Estimated damage was about $20,000.

Structure Fire - Mutual Aid to Icard Township Fire / Rescue

Around 0712 HRS Long View Fire Department provided Mutual Aid to Icard Township Fire / Rescue
for a working Structure Fire. Lovelady, George Hildebran & Mt. View Fire Departments also assisted
with the incident.
Responding Agencies: Icard Township Fire/ Rescue, Lovelady Fire / Rescue, George Hildebran Fire/
Rescue, Long View Fire Department & Mountain View Fire Department.



Commercial Fire Alarm - Mutual Aid - Icard Fire - April 13, 2011
At 2123 HRS Long View Fire Department responded Mutual Aid to Icard Township Fire / Rescue for a
Commercial Fire Alarm. Icard E-1 arrived on scene and found smoke inside the structure from a
Dust Collection Fire. A second alarm was struck for Icard and a Structural Dispatch followed. 3
Departments responded for Mutual Aid to the incident.
Responding Agencies: Icard C-640, C-1, E-1, E-2, E-4 & S-1, Long View C-200, C-1 & L-25, Lovelady
T-7 & U-6, Drowning Creek T-2 & Personnel responded to the incident.


Commercial Structure Fire - Mutual Aid to Hudson Fire Department
3000 Block of Hickory Boulevard
May 28, 2011,
At 1737 HRS Long View Fire Department along with every other Fire Department from Catawba
County received a request to respond a unit to the 3000 Block of Hickory Boulevard in Caldwell
County for a large Commercial Structure fire at a Chemical Coatings facility. Agencies from multiple
counties responded including Haz-Mat Units from Charlotte & Asheville. Long View Ladder 25
responded with 4 personnel to the incident. Multiple Ladder Companies from several counties also
responded to the location.


Residential Structure Fire
21ST ST NW & 2ND AVE NW
June 25, 2011
At 0354 HRS Long View Fire Department responded to the area of 21ST ST NW & 2ND AVE NW for a
reported Structure Fire. The first arriving unit found a 2500 SF Residential home well involved. A
second alarm was struck for Long View Fire and a request for Mutual Aid from Hickory E-3 &
Mountain View Fire Department. Icard Township Fire / Rescue responded Automatic Mutual Aid with
the initial alarm. Long View Fire Department, Icard Township Fire / Rescue, Mountain View Fire
Department, Hickory Fire E-3, Hickory Rescue, Catawba County EMS & the Catawba County Fire
Marshal's Office responded to the incident.

7100 Block of George Hildebran Rd.
August 8, 2011
Around 0100 HRS Long View L-25 responded to the 7100 Block of George Hildebran Rd. to assist
Mountain View Fire Department. L-25 was used to access the church steeple to investigate where
a fire had been extinguished.

Around 2357 HRS Long View Fire Department responded to the 2200 Block of 1ST AVE SW for a
reported Dumpster Fire. Long E-23 arrived on scene and confirmed the fire.
